BODY OVERVIEW:
This 1955 Ford Thunderbird boasts a timeless design that has been nicely preserved over the years! The classic lines and iconic styling are complemented by the striking Thunderbird Blue finish. This T-bird was previously an Arizona car, and it really shows! The underside is very clean, and even has visible original undercoating present.
Overall, the exterior presents beautifully and this car should be considered a high-quality driver-condition car. It should be noted that there is some cracking in the paint on the nose, as well as a visible line where the driver’s door has been repaired or partially skinned. Please see photos.
The car comes with both a white hard top, which is in unrestored condition, and a brown soft top that matches the car's condition. The fender skirts and a variety of spare parts are also included, setting the next owner up for success!
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW:
The Thunderbird Blue paint, while from an older restoration, still presents beautifully. It exudes a vibrant, classic look that turns heads wherever it goes. Though it shows minor signs of age and use, these do not detract from the car's overall appeal and vintage charm. There’s something about a blue Thunderbird that just screams 1950s Americana!
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW:
Step inside to a nostalgic blue and white interior that mirrors the exterior's vibrant color. The interior has been well preserved, maintaining its classic look and feel. The 4-way power seat and power steering add a touch of modern comfort to this vintage beauty, making it a pleasure to drive. The electronic tachometer is a subtle touch of convenience. The interior presents beautifully, and like the exterior it is in excellent driver condition!
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW:
Under the hood lies a 292ci V8 engine paired with the rarely seen 3-speed manual transmission, for some added fun! It even has overdrive! This Thunderbird runs great and fires up effortlessly at the touch of a key. As a personal luxury vehicle of the 1950s, a manual transmission wouldn’t have been the choice of many buyers at the time, but here nearly 70 years later it is a rarity that can only enhance the driving experience of a fine automobile like this! The dual exhaust has a great tone to it, and pairs perfectly with the manual transmission for the ultimate top-down classic car driving experience. It shifts nicely, and is a blast to drive!
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR:
You’ll love the classic style, vibrant Thunderbird Blue paint, and the rare manual transmission that provides an engaging driving experience! The inclusion of both a hard top and a soft top, along with fender skirts and spare parts, adds to the car’s value.
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR:
If you're looking for a fully restored, showroom-condition car, this Thunderbird might not meet your expectations. The hard top is unrestored, and there are minor signs of aging & use in the body, interior, and paint. However, we find that these elements add to the car's authentic, vintage character!
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING?
This Thunderbird is ready to hit the road and provides a delightful driving experience! It should be noted that the power seat motor seems to work, but is not connected to the seat.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR?
This car is perfect for someone who appreciates classic American automobiles and enjoys the nostalgia of a vintage ride. If you’re looking to purchase the charm of an iconic American classic without breaking the bank, this Thunderbird is a great choice!
